Name of the pest: Helicoverpa armigera (American bollworm)
Host crops: Pigeon pea, cow pea, Okra, Bengal gram, Soya bean, Sorghum, Groundnut, Cotton and etc.
American bollworm is a polyphagous pest, which feeds on wide range of plants including major agriculture crops. The larvae feeds on foliage in beginning at later bore into the fruit with their bodies and hanging out. Damage cause by this pest will results in 50-60% of yield reduction

Traps need to be installed after two months from the date of sowing
Trap density: For mass trapping about 10-15 traps/acre depending on the infestation
