Pink bollworm is a serious pest of cotton crop, which even got resistant to first generation transgenic Bt cotton. Larvae feeds on cotton fruit and bores into it and can survive more than a month inside the pod. Due to the damage by pink bollworm can reduce the overall 60-70%.
